I hope you are not right. But hope is a very dangerous word.

Last time whenever sell down, there is the hope of QE, and later when QE was pushed out, share price recovers. This time round, there is no potential positive catalyst, instead negative one aka rate hike.Unless FED starts talking about QE4 instead of rate hike, then i think market is really done and dusted, may remain low for a substantial amount of time like 2-3 years.

Cannot explain. Senseless selling everywhere.

I think their liftboat is in mid stage of construction, if all goes well, they should complete by 1st quarter or mid next year, looks like the sale could happen suddenly or they will probably be a liftboat operator. If this business goes well, Baker will probably build more and they will be a darling with huge cash surplus, high profit margin..
Someone is collecting at 0.215, good news could be on the horizon, will buy some depending on circumstances.

The whole Singapore stock market is under attack. The rest of the region too. When good times return, people may see value in this.

Looks like they just made another SGD 650K from the 0.01 appreciation of USD.. will ask around if there is any news on potential buyer regarding their liftboat, if this is positive, Baker will be another fortune god for their investors. Tempting to buy at this price which is not too far from their cash per share but hoping it to drop more before any buyins

Seems like this is an issue that SGX needs to address. In any case, since Baker holds USD 65 million cash, every 1 cent appreciation of USD vs SGD, it makes $650,000 profit. So this stock is now a USD vs SGD play. Today the exchange rate almost hit 1.40. From where the book was marked at end of June of around 1.3474, it has generated more than $3 million paper profit. Perhaps management should sell some along the way to lock in some real profit.

They cant becos of the 20 cents rule as they are listed in SGX mainboard. If they return 10-15 cents, then their share price will drop to 5-10 cents way below 20 cents limit , then they have to do a consolidation which they may not be willing to...Maybe this 20 cents rule is keeping them from capital reduction?
Yes, most probably. Some people who did not check their CDP accounts regularly may not actually know or remember they have the warrants. Very wasted.

These people probably forgot or shifted address hence they did not manage to read reminder letters.
Posted: August 11, 2015 4:45 pmPosted by: @lifeisgood
Funny thing why some people did not exercise the warrants. The exercise price was 14.5 cents. And throughout the last 2 months, Baker Tech prices were hovering around 21 - 25 cents. Just exercise the warrants and immediately dump off would result in a quick gain of at least 6 cents. An easy arbitrage if I have the warrants.

looks like you are vested heavily in this stock.. how many lots you holding? it looks weird as alot of warrant holders did not exercise their warrants previously, maybe they forgot all about it.

Amid very very weak market condition, Baker at least saw some buying up today, clearing 22. In the meantime, the USD is running wild, which is good for Baker.
I have only a small position in this, not a lot. Keep for dividend, buy on dips.

Best is to do a capital reduction. Return like 10 - 15 cents cash, and leave the rest for operations. This way can increase the ROE substantially.

Investors should question the management about 3 things before investing in this stock:- They setup BT Investment in 2013 but to date there is no investment activities. Does it mean they have been paying director fees to the management of BT Investment for this 2 years? What is the company' s short and long term plan?
- Status of current order book as it was not indicated in the latest result.
- Triyard has been winning orders for construction of liftboats yet after a year +/- there is still no good news coming out from Baker.. At what stage is the construction of Liftboat, and period to completion
The foreign exchange gain is definitely good news for its shareholders and USD should appreciate more since they will be raising rates soon and that SG government is likely to depreciate own currency to improve competitiveness.
