Very good observation of DBS.
It is still well supported at 17.20 .....and buy Q built up one below this level. Dow tonite is important.
Let see.

Took profit at 17.39 n 40 when I saw HSI reversed from about 22,100 and going down so fast due to some bad news about a company with accounts issue.. n closed at 21,796 as DBS is very sensitive to HSI.

Just now at low of 17.15 also dare not jeep as Dow futures now minus 200 points..better watch and if Dow down sharply tonight, tmr can jeep at lower price..closer to 17.00 a key support level

To trade profitably, minimum is 10 lots as we need abt 9c in/out for brokerage and fees.. not sure what is heavy to you as my trading can be up to 30 lots if a very good opportunity presents. If you will to check my past postings on this thread, I had made 100% good calls so far (thank God) and had profited each time... even caught a 60c rebound a few weeks ago when I bought the day after Dow sold down the 1,000 point intra day. I can trade this stock becos I had sold my entire CPF holdings which include Dbs a few months ago and can pick up what I buy.

Now already in the money as now Bid 17.39, Ask 17.40.

So much for the prediction of a feared market crash on the week of 13 to 18 Sep... already ten days had past and we do not see any resemblence of the Dow selldown of 1,000 points or even anything close to 500 points drop! US and the European markets are in fact very stable now.

MARK My words.. this will NOT Happen next week !!

Chinese Mkts hd deflated their bubbles and USA/ European Mkts had corrected too. USA and Europe economy is doing alright and if everybody is wary of a crash and once everyone is prepared, the crash will not happen. Only euphoria and irrational exuberance at the extreme creating overly high mkt valuations n stock market bubbles at the time when everyone (including shoe shine boys) is super confident about bull mkt, then a crash will come.. most unexpectedly.

Heavily vested or just a couple of lots? Sorry for asking.

Did you load any at 17.20? Am vested now. Should firm up from here once Dow is back to guessing mode for rate hike..

So should I buy the shares at 17.30?

open at 17.20 and went up to 17.31 Well supported ar 17.20
If Dow is to recover tonite......DBS might return :))

DBS held at 17.20 firmly against the sharp drop in Dow -299 points over the weekend n now Ask 17.25. Dbs should consolidate at this region and then firm up from here once the rate hike jitters dissipate in USA and then recover..

17.25 is a short term support and Dbs will probably rally once the Fed rate hike happens as this will be positive for them as it allow a bigger margin of profit for their loans.. You can buy around this price if you have holding power.. dyodd

personally I think it presents good opportunity for long-term investors not short-term traders. at the end of the day, portfolio managers will want to close the year high since their bonus depends on portfolio returns. given that we have some breather from now till end of year where we have the next Fed meeting, there seems to be room for some rally.

DBS is a good stock....but I do feel it will be down the whole of september.....just too much damage done and confidence on world economy. The only strong rally i see is probably in October...

Itw will, without a doubt. It' s how unscrupulous manipulators exploit index stocks to torpedo the STI to create a semblance of mkt fear n nervousness to instill fear n anxiety into others, especially small fries like us. They do this in order to suck us all dry n dead. The truth though is that the banks here are strong n profits will increase, especially with SIBOR on the uptrend, n soon enough an uturn in share px will take place.

But come Monday morning I think it is going to lose ground, together with the other two local banks.

Apart from anything else, I believe DBS' housing loan portfolio is the envy of many. With interest rate on the rise (n FED is likely not to hold back much longer), DBS' s profits for the next few qtrs are gonna be very good. The same people selling now are gonna sell a different story to justify pumping the px up soon enough. $25 is a possible 12-mth target, I' d think.
