STI vs OCBC Shares Price

Hi fellow stock expert, I like to seek some advice from you guys. Hope you guys can give me some advice regarding my plan.

I have a budget around $35,000.00 and I like to purchase OCBC shares. I have 2 target for price for OCBC and 2 target for STI Index

PLAN A

OCBC: $7.50 - Buy 3 lots : $22,500.00

If the price drop more and hit $6.50 i will purchase another 2 lots.

OCBC: $6.50 - Buy 2 lots : $13,000.00

After that I will just wait even the OCBC price drop more.

Total : $35,500.00

Plan B

Once STI drop 2500 i will use around $20,000.00 to buy OCBC Shares regardless what price when it hit 2500

Then if STI drop more to 2200, I will use another $15,000.00 to buy OCBC Shares regardless what price when it hit 2200.

After that I will just wait even the STI drop more.

Total : $35,000.00

Kindly advice which plans work better and why?

Was there any gap up and gap down? I don't think so, as I believe all the prices were reached by intermediate buy sell at the next click. Gaps occur only when there's no transactions done at intermediate prices. Just a technical point.

Well said. I don' t see much from those TA guys. I thought they would have made money in this downtrend by shorting, though not every TA practioner short. I am interested also how they read yesterday' s sudden gap up and today' s gap down.

seriously I dont think can Convince or read the market ( bottom ? Turn etc) ...Charts are charts ....the next dot or bar are due to human buy/sell past action ...who can really know the bottom ( so no point trying to shout low is 6 or etc. ...All TP are and remain target. )
What is more true is that each of us here ( in the forum ) read and think its " worth " or have value to enter a certain stock and base on its value etc.
So each has and hold their own view......some catch it ( or miss it) ....some miss it and caught it lower if lucky ....on and on.
We cant read the bottom but we can read its value.

In the end price of oil dtermine stock price not past performance, oil below 30 indicate recession is near unless it rebound selling would continue. History taught us oil this level time to sell everything and hold cash

somebody made similar statements as yours when price was still in 8.9+ range not too long ago.... then it went to 8.8+ ...... silence... now it is 8.7+. not trying to say that we don' t know about value but sentiments and sti will affect the price. if sti does not pick up, the only way to go is down even for all 3 banks and ocbc seems to be hardest hit with its exposures in china and hk.

I was trying hard not to comment ....but just saw many fear spreading and price call wo reaons ( $6 etc)
1. OCBC is profitable and having book value of aro 8.40 ......why wld Temasek allow anyone to take over .....how many parites are richer then T. ?
2. NPL are already taken into provision and yes when proeprty cycle turn bad...they maybe some BUT BUT ...its v small esp w banks able to sell off the pro and regain at least a large partial of the loan. ( unless u scream that pro is worth zero)
3. Alrdy 3 good QTR of profit and certain there is a diivdend for full year....why wld not strong share holders await the result and sell it off at below book value.
( oh....as it can drop to $6......so this strong holders would not buy more if it really drop more ? )
DYODD....every sell there is a buy .....at the end who is greedy when they is real fear .

Global recession come fast and hard, in 2008 everyone thought george bush would rescue lehman like bearstern but he let it go bust. 1 investment banks gone down trigger GFC. Those greedy rich are trying to use every tiny reason to trigger GFC so they can recoup their hedge loss in oil, they do anything
